Mark Butler is vibrant, warm and deliriously inventive. Watching the UK comedian over the last few Fringes it’s become obvious that he’s one of the most reliable comics out there. The quality of his shows never alters because he’s invariably hilarious as he puts a unique spin on familiar themes. Last year he discussed Body Language. Don’t miss this year’s triumphant return with "Let’s Talk About Sex". He’s irreverent without crossing the line but if talk about fellatio and cunnilingus leaves a nasty taste in your mouth then this is not the show for you.
For most people, Butler is at the top of his form in this show, in which he portrays an incompetent schoolteacher who has been asked to cover a lesson on human reproduction. Treating his audience like virgins he explains how babies are made and why men wish they were barnacles. Other topics include, contraception, fetishes, frottage, masturbation and why men can’t be put off by anything a woman says during love-making but one glimpse of a nipple hair and it’s all over. Sex is fertile ground for humour and this show gets better the more one thinks about it and therefore cries out for repeat viewings. Comedies this brilliantly designed and executed are rarities and the most impressive ingredient in "Let’s Talk About Sex" is Mark Butler. Highly Recommended.
