Londoner Nik Coppin’s show lives up to its title. Most of us will certainly relate to Nik’s self-confessed obsession of using the internet as the source of all knowledge and even the show’s title will have many of us tapping it into Google (I know did!).
Nik is a confident professional who is not afraid to let the audience take the show in a different direction. He swiftly dismisses the mythical ‘fourth wall’ between the performer and his audience as he chats freely with everyone from the front row to the sound engineer. He has the skill to reference back to something that was said earlier and seamlessly turn it into part of his routine of observational humour. I loved the black sock story!
Nik made mention that he was trying out some new material which, in my opinion, he needn’t have done, it all sounded well researched and delivered with confidence.
Clearly a guy who loves facts (and fiction!), Nik enthusiastically informs his audience of the differences between Australian versus Brazilian spiders, Spiderman versus Superman, God versus Barbed Wire. (Bit weird that one, but true.) His fast paced articulate delivery ensures that there are no lulls in the 50-minute show.
Loquacious is definitely a show worth catching at the superb Tuxedo Cat rooftop venue in Synagogue Place.
Go ahead and Google Nik Coppin, before he Googles you!
