The Liberals have again been blamed for a sex scandal smear campaign against South Australian Premier Mike Rann, with Deputy Premier Kevin Foley lashing out on radio this morning.
Former parliamentary waitress Michelle Chantelois alleges she had an affair with Mr Rann between 2003-05.
Although Mr Rann has vehemently denied the allegations, he has admitted to a "flirty" past relationship with Ms Chantelois.
In the past two weeks, Ms Chantelois has shown up at a function the premier was meant to attend, has visited his city office to make a special delivery of lie detector tests and gone public with a copy of a personal letter she wrote to accompany the polygraph test.
A poll has also revealed public dissatisfaction with Mr Rann's trustworthiness.
This morning, Mr Foley lashed out on ABC Radio branding the appearance of Ms Chantelois as nothing more than an opposition stunt ahead of the March 20 poll.
"This is a government that has delivered, and when we talk about trust, we are not out there doing what the Liberals are doing - working hand in hand with other people to put nonsense up like the Chantelois factor," he said.
"I'd like people to expose what is clearly an activity involving the Liberal Party."
However, Mr Foley admitted he had no evidence to support his claim.
"What I'm basing it on (is) ... clearly, the Liberal Party is exploiting it for all it's worth," he said.
"If we want to debate trust, put the Liberal Party under as much scrutiny as the Labor Party is put under."
Comment is being sought from the Liberal Party.
