The South Australian Parliament is going through a sitting drought, Family First MP Robert Brokenshire says.
With the official opening of the new session today, Mr Brokenshire said since the 2006 state election the number of sitting days for the House of Assembly had fallen dramatically.
He said the previous Liberal government sat on average 299 hours each year while in its first term from 2002 to 2006 Labor sat for an average of 394 hours each year.
But since the 2006 poll, the lower house has sat for an average of only 229 hours each year.
"What happened to (Premier Mike) Rann's aggressive legislative agenda?" Mr Brokenshire said.
"Today we have a joke of a ceremonial sitting for no reason other than spin.
"We pointlessly lost Tuesday's sitting because of this farce."
