Wilhelm to face new trial over Brimble death

06 Nov, 2009 11:05 AM
Mark Wilhelm will face a second manslaughter trial next year over the cruise ship death of Dianne Brimble.

Last month, after four weeks of evidence, a jury in the NSW Supreme Court failed to reach a verdict at his first trial and was dismissed.

During a brief arraignment in the court today, Justice Roderick Howie set a new trial date of April 19.

Wilhelm has been accused of the manslaughter of the Brisbane mother, whose body was found on the floor of a P&O cruise ship cabin in September 2002.

He also faces a charge of supplying her with the illegal drug GHB, also known as fantasy or liquid ecstasy, which was found in her body.

Wilhelm was not present in court during his arraignment.
