SLIPPING INTO THE FUTURE: Aged care will be the by-word of the future, with about a quarter of Australians expected to be aged over 65 in 50 years' time. New projections released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics show that our population, now sitting at about 21 million, will have ballooned to between 31 and 43 million by 2056. South Australia's population is expected to increase more slowly than that of other states, rising by 39 per cent compared to Queensland's doubled numbers and a 64 per cent rise in Victoria.
